Product description

This teak door is ideal for formal or regal spaces. It has been embellished with hand-beaten brass, by a technique known in India as Pitara. Designs in Pitara are skillfully hammered into a sheet of brass using a mallet, in this craft technique that has been handed down across generations. The placement of the Pitara elements on the door that is visible here is inspired by the rising sun and also quite reminiscent of the sunburst pattern that was popular in the art deco era.
