The carpets “Hieroglyphs” and “Sun” both belong to the "Cartouche" collection created by Lola Mercier, Textile Designer during her stay in Cairo and her collaboration with the weavers of the Cairo garbage collectors community. These rugs are woven in their workshop with scraps of recycled cotton fabric. Between art and design, they are drawn from simple hand-woven compositions on very rudimentary crafts.
