ZACARIAS 1925 x Nazareno/Lichauco explore subversive stitching and silhouettes of vintage sewing cases in the SEWN CASES. Cross-stitch text of charged sentiments on laser-engraved leather is combined with hand-woven wicker as a nod to the role of embroidery in Western culture and "the practice of craft as a weapon of resistance to the constraints of women's disenfranchisement" (www.gold.ac.uk/subversivestitchrevisited). Pieces include a bag and a small pet carrier.
