Iwata Sanbou
Iwata Sanbou workshop
IWATA SANBOU have inherited techniques from the middle of the Edo period and use natural Kiso Hinoki from the Kiso Valley National Forest, which is about 300 years old. In recent years, the amount of production has decreased sharply and it has become a valuable item. For more than 1000 years, Kiso Hinoki have been used to build temples, shrines and castles because of its strength and durability. This wood has a fine grain creating a pleasant, smooth touch and a strong antibacterial effect. Its hygroscopic proprieties will reduce the risk of deforming, cracking or shrinking.
