IMPERFECTION SUBLIMATED BY GOLD: THE ART OF KINTSUGI
Imperfection sublimated by gold! In this age of overconsumption, mending, repairing or even recycling are different ways of extending the life of an object. It is in this spirit that Maison Gala offers its version of the art of Kintsugi, which in Japanese means "golden joint". Our artisans, inspired by this ancient Japanese method of repairing broken ceramics, use 22-karat gold leaf to treat each bowl or plate that comes out damaged from their oven. The Mira decoration, with its clean lines in white porcelain, sublimates a small flaw with gold, rather than hiding it. Each piece is special and one of a kind: made to order by hand by our Italian artisans in small, limited series, the pieces all come out different.
