BIG MAMMA - Barcelone

Elevating Spaces with Bespoke Ceramic Columns and Pots for Big Mamma’s Barcelona Restaurant
At Maison Gala, bespoke design is a craft in itself. When the Big Mamma group approached us to create 20 custom columns and 20 ceramic pots for their new Barcelona restaurant, we knew the project called for more than just aesthetics—it required a precise balance of materials, textures, and atmosphere to seamlessly blend into an iconic space. From concept to creation: three essential steps 1- Research and inspiration Every project begins with understanding the space: the play of light, the feel of the materials, the mood. For this project, we sought to capture the unique spirit of the restaurant through a careful study of its textures, tones, and architectural flow. 2- Material testing and refinement Our atelier became a playground for experimentation—exploring glaze compositions, perfecting dripping effects, adjusting hues to achieve the right depth and character. Each prototype was an opportunity to push boundaries and refine the vision. 3- Handcrafted production Each piece was shaped by hand, a dialogue between our artisans and the material itself. This collaboration resulted in one-of-a-kind columns and pots that reflect the artistry and precision at the heart of Maison Gala’s process. A bold, cohesive statement for the space The columns and pots were designed not just as decorative elements, but as integral parts of the restaurant’s identity—adding structure, texture, and a sense of place to the vibrant Barcelona venue. At Maison Gala, we believe that exceptional design is born from the dialogue between craftsmanship, material, and the unique story of each space. Looking to bring your vision to life?
