Tubes in the Suites of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Frankfurt
Tubes contributed to the creation of the bathroom areas in the Wohnidee Suites in Frankfurt’s Radisson Blu Hotel. The German Wohnidee furniture magazine oversaw the renovation of two suites in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Frankfurt. Both suites are characterized by a mix of contemporary and traditional design elements and by the application of precious materials and furniture. In every detail, they express the elegance and style of the hotel, creating two very different atmospheres: the Classic Monochrome suite is dominated by the dark, sophisticated shades of wood and metal, while the Modern Serenity suite mainly features pastel colors, soft forms and light wood. The selected Tubes products are Square Composition, in the Classic Monochrome suite, and Scaletta, in the Modern Serenity suite, both in the bathroom area. Square, designed by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba, was chosen in the Composition version as a radiator and towel warmer in the bathroom area of the Classic Monochrome suite, playing with the colors that characterize this environment: black and white. Like many Tubes radiators, Square can be customized in over 260 color variants on the RAL scale and multiple colors can be combined in the same composition. Square’s main characteristic is the lightness of the structure made entirely from aluminum, which has a thickness of only 28 mm. Square can have a rectangular or square shape for vertical or horizontal mounting and is available in a wide range of colors and sizes, allowing maximum customization of interiors as well as an adequate thermal yield even in very spacious environments. It can be equipped with a handle for the towel warmer function. Square won the Red Dot 2007 in the “Product Design” category and the Design Preis 2008. Scaletta, designed by Elisa Giovannoni, is the towel warmer in the Modern Serenity suite. Scaletta’s design is far-removed from the traditional shapes of towel warmers: the ladder is an immediate object, which needs no explanation to be understood because it is everyone’s imagination. At the same time, it is a discreet piece of furniture that is perfect for the bathroom. Scaletta, which is plug & play and therefore does not require installation, offers maximum freedom of positioning. It is made of aluminum. Scaletta won the German Design Award 2016 (Bath and Wellness category) and the Good Design Award 2015, was named “Honoree” for the Best of Year 2015 award organized by American magazine Interior Design and was also selected for publication on the ADI Design Index 2015. Moreover, in 2016, it received an Honorable Mention from the jury of the XXIV Compasso d'Oro ADI Award.
