The Garden of Earthly Delights

A design by Gärna Studio for Kaymanta in Casa Decor 2021

We will present in more detail one of our collaborations for this edition of Casa Decor 2021 in Madrid, Spain. It is the entrance to the building and the environment that introduces us to the universe that encompasses the event. A true wonder that captures the essence of what Kaymanta and Gärna Studio are capable of. Inspired by Bosco's famous work of art "The Garden of Earthly Delights", the artists in the studio created a design that takes the most fundamental aspects of this painting in a totally contemporary and abstract side. Using the characteristic colors of the triptych such as greens, blues, oranges and earth tones, which, using natural pigments and dyes, fill lines that blend and flow throughout the room to achieve an enveloping space where art and decor merge. It is a piece that combines natural materials such as pure New Zealand wool and bamboo silk, two of the main materials in Kaymanta rugs. In addition, it incorporates two different heights and interweaves the techniques of "loop" and "pile" which delimit the colored sections of the whole carpet. It is undoubtedly a representation of a work of art that has become a masterpiece itself. Official photos by Nacho Uribesalazar
