From the Sea, For the Sea
When you love the sea, what could be more natural than to want to take care of it? Our commitment to the environment and the preservation of the seabed is reflected in our association with the Spanish company Seaqual. With a network of 400 fishermen in the Mediterranean, Seaqual collects plastic bottles lying on beaches or on the seabed, and recycles them by transforming them into polyester fiber. A virtuous economic model that enables us to create swimwear in line with our values and our desire to be a player in real change. THE STEPS: -Collection: Waste collection is a vast undertaking. The company relies on a network of 400 fishermen who collect waste from the seabed. Seaqual also relies on individual initiatives, NGOs and companies, each contributing in their own way to cleaning up the beaches, seas and oceans. -Sorting: Once collected, the garbage is first sorted. Plastics are separated from the rest of the garbage before being cleaned and cut into small flakes. -Processing: The flakes are then transformed into recycled marine plastic granules before being melted into yarns. These are spun into a high-quality textile fiber with the same properties as conventional polyester. -The design of our swimwear: Based on our designs, the Seaqual fabric is printed using the sublimation technique before being cut. Our swimwear is then made in northern Portugal, thanks to the expertise of our partners.
