Chalet Nê — A Dialogue Between East and West
Perched in the French Alps, Chalet Nê is a 650m² retreat by A Work of Substance, blending Alpine architecture with the spirituality and artistry of East Asia. The Silk Road Collection was invited to enrich the interiors with weathered treasures — antique pots from Hunan, Japanese kimonos, wedding baskets from Fujian, opium pillows, and more. These carefully curated pieces form a cultural bridge, infusing the chalet with layers of history, texture, and wabi-sabi elegance. Highlighted by AD Magazine, Yatzer and Archello, the project stands as a testament to cross-cultural design and the timeless beauty of weathered materials. Designer: A Work of Substance.
