Fabrice Ausset, sensitive designer
From his childhood in the South, he remembers hours spent observing the rocks sculpted and carved out by the water and the organic shapes of the pebbles or driftwood that fed his artistic endeavors. Today, this tireless researcher/licensed architect/interior designer/scenographer reinterprets and transcends this natural environment using digital tools, which he so masterfully uses. Thus, the leaves, plants, and root systems are transformed into rugs, lounge chairs, or lamps, the likes of which we can see at the Sarto gallery (through September 18th) for the "Mobilier singulier" (Singular furniture) exhibition, where he created pieces that are both unique and poetic, such as a black crystal vase and a cast-iron end table, in addition to a few of his iconic pieces, including his inflated stainless-steel bench seat. Other designs, in partnership with Emaux de Longwy, will be on show during the PAD in London at the Invisible Collection gallery, then in November in New York.
