Edgar Jayet, firmly anchored in the South
Freshly graduated from École Camondo in 2021 in interiors and design, Edgar Jayet was awarded the Grand Prix from the expert panel at the Design Parade Toulon, alongside his partner Victor Fleury, another student he met during his studies. In the wake of all this, he founded his multidisciplinary agency and designed, for the Fondation Carmignac in Porquerolles, four chairs in acacia wood inspired by the fruit-picking ladders used in Provençal olive groves. It’s been a truly promising start for this passionate young man with a thirst for all kinds of different experiences. He admits that, from the age of 13, he already knew that he would be a designer, and at 17, he got an internship in New Zealand so he could start to learn about the field. Once he returned to France, he began his professional life with Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, then continued at architectural firm Jacob&Macfarlane and with Xavier Veilhan, where he would be named Production Manager. In short, we get it – Edgar Jayet doesn’t waste any time! Today, this designer with a special sensibility for craft has landed on a pétanque pitch and is developing a range of portable furniture that he plans to produce himself. Keep your eye on this one!
