Julie Blum, Art Deco as a legacy
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Anne-Sophie Duval Gallery, which specializes in Art Deco, her daughter Julie Blum, an architect by training, pays tribute to her in a beautiful book* that traces the history of this family, the unique character of this gallery, and the passion that energized her mother and grandmother (who founded this venue in the early 1960s on rue Bonaparte in Paris), and she looks back over the masterpieces they've shown, from Pierre Chareau to Mallet-Stevens and Jean Dunand. Since 2008, when her mother died, Julie Blum has taken over this space, where she also regularly presents works from ceramic artists of the 1950s such as Valentine Schlegel or Guidette Carbonell. "This book is also a tribute to women artists, whose creative energy has played a crucial role in the history of the arts in the 20th and 21st centuries". *Galerie Anne-Sophie Duval, 50 years of modernity, published by Gourcuff Gradenigo
