Banco de Papel Vereda
The line of Domingos T tora-benches are made of repurposed cardboard pulp and oxidized iron to construct the legs. The individual layers and flowing lines are formed by hand, laid to dry in the Brazilian sun and glued together with an organic and biodegradable glue. Domingos’ benches are not only aesthetically pleasing, but provide comfortable seating as well. The benches are strictly for indoor use.

This French artist and designer, a graduate of the Design Academy in Eindhoven, already has an international reputation at the age of 33. Her rattan chaise longue, Duchesse, has entered the permanent collections of the Centre Pompidou, and the CNAP has also acquired three of her pieces. It has to be said that she works with this liana - which she learned to tame during a residency in Indonesia - with a dexterity that commands admiration. Approached by a prestigious museum in Texas, who commissioned a monumental tapestry, in rattan of course, she creates voluptuous, sculptural seats, coffee tables and sofas for numerous collectors, in limited series. While she waits for her research into Chinese bamboo, coconut and agave fiber to come to fruition...
