Maar, a playful and poetic label
Born in Marseille, Marion Goutière - who is also collection director for Charlotte Chesnais - decided to reconnect with her origins by creating Maar in 2023. A publishing house for everyday objects - plates, vases, candleholders, cushions... - whose poetry infuses the project. It's a sincere and humble project, with some twenty creations to date, based on five materials: wood, wicker, rope, cotton and clay. "Maar is a timeless collection, very much inspired by the South, with more of a Marseille spirit than a Cannes one," explains the founder, who likes to say that she sees these objects more at home in a garden shed than in a Cannes villa. Her dream? To one day have the opportunity to be sold at Jogging, Olivier Amsellem's concept store in Marseilles. Long may he live!
