Derek Castiglioni

Derek Castiglioni is a designer and landscape designer. Class of ’83, was born in Varese and based in Milan where he designs outdoor spaces and outdoor furniture. But he works around the world. After studying at the Faculty of Architecture of the Politecnico of Milan and a formative experience at the Western University of Australia, he takes his first steps within the plant-nursery family company, where he learned the concepts and the secrets of the plants. His love for the design, architecture and the knowledge learned in the green field, soon make him wants to make these worlds meet in his projects with a 360 ° view of the outdoor spaces. Soon his collaborations will start with local and international design and architecture studios, exclusive and customized projects for private clients and important fashion houses. His way of designing comes from the idea that there is no distinction in interpreting the outer spaces from the internal ones. Accuracy in designing every single aspect, multiplicity of details and materials are the cornerstones of every project. The theme of project personalization and love for design led to the birth of Derek Castiglioni Collezioni, an ambitious outdoor furniture project that fully reflects his style and his vision of this world.
