Alix Thomsen: joyful simplicity
After a first career in fashion, as a designer for Lacoste and Chloé, then through to the launch of her own brand in 2008, Alix Thomsen branched off into interior design by chance, following her encounter with Yoan Marciano. This young entrepreneur entrusted her with the decor for the Hôtel du Temps in Paris' 10th arrondissement, then for the Hôtel Habituel, just next door, where she showed off the full measure of her talents. After that, this winter, she worked on the first-ever hotel/movie theater from the Kamitz brothers, the MK2 Hôtel Paradisio, where she expressed her personality yet again with infinite delicacy. "A successful space", she explains, "includes timeless decor that seems as though it had always been there. My role consists of enhancing the interior, not in promoting myself!". Her selection reflects her signature style: chic, eclectic, and a far cry from today's passing trends.
