Originally,"Chirori" were made of metal to heat up liquor, but by making them out of glass, they became an elegant way to add color to the table. There aren't too many glass pots that are molded into a square shape, so they make a statement on the table. When you want to serve cold drinks, you can fill the included inner core with ice to keep the outside of the pot cool without diluting the liquor. Warm sake can be warmed up and then poured directly into the chirori, which is made of heat-resistant glass.
