Traditional Craft Designated by the Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry: IWAYADO TANSU. We don't keep inventory; we create custom-made chests of drawers tailored to the specific needs and sizes of each household.

Originating in Iwate in 1783, this traditional craft is a bespoke masterpiece tailored for each household. The interior uses moisture-regulating paulownia wood, while the zelkova exterior features bold wood grain enhanced by a natural wiped-urushi finish, providing water repellency and antibacterial protection. Ornamental metal fittings handcrafted by skilled engravers allow any design, from hundreds of auspicious traditional motifs to custom modern creations, across the chest, including locks and handles. Together, these elements ensure exceptional sturdiness that endures through generations.
