Product description
The Lotus fabric, which is produced from the stem of the aquatic plant of the same name, is entirely organic and innovative.
The Lotus stem are up-rooted by the women at sunrise. The first step of the lotus extracting process is to break the stem, then to pull the inside fibers out. This harvest is a very delicate and fastidious manual process.
The spinning starts on a wood board, and then is carried out on a traditional spinning wheel. To avoid any entanglements, the threads are wrapped around a bamboo spool, and afterwards, stored away from light or heat.
