Equinoctial sundial, known as the “Augsburg clock”. Made by I.G. Vogler, it belonged to a legendary line of goldsmiths in Augsburg. The Voglers helped to popularize it in the 18th century. This German sundial is universal. It has a sliding scale of latitudes to be defined for measurement. These classics were generally octagonal planes that contained a compass with hinged clamps that allowed the hour scale and the limb (with a latitude scale) to rotate. They were originally made of brass and glass.
