Product description

Sailing with the stars and the Moon in the Elizabethan era... This delicate and beautiful instrument was specially designed for a shipowner and is considered to be one of the first instruments of the English Renaissance. It is a reproduction of a Nocturnal dial and a tide chart. One of its faces is a Nocturlabe (night clock, stars) and the other is the tide calculator. It was made by Humphrey Cole (1570), and the original piece is in the British Museum.
