NIKONE HANDCRAFT

Nikone Handcraft is a handloom weaving center based in Vientiane, Laos. They manufacture handwoven textiles.

Nikone mixes traditional style with modern design. They specialize in continuous complimentary weaving: the pick up technique. They use local materials such as silk, cotton and jungle vine. Nikone is dedicated to working with environmentally friendly practices and offering opportunities for local women. They employ up to 50 women, who dye, weave and sew the textiles. Nikone is a family business, run by Lanoi, the daughter of Rassanikone Nanong, who established the business in 1992.
