KOMA

Founded in Tokyo in 2003, KOMA is a furniture workshop dedicated to creating furniture with the beauty of one-of-a-kind works of art. Each piece is carefully crafted by hand to bring out the natural beauty and gentle touch of wood.

Founded by Shigeki Matsuoka in 2003, KOMA is a small furniture workshop of around 20 craftspeople in Tokyo. Guided by the concept of creating furniture with the beauty of a one-of-a-kind work of art. Using treasured Japanese traditional hand tools, we shape and finish each piece, one shaving at a time, to reveal the gentle, smooth touch and natural beauty of wood. We create every piece with care, hoping it will remain a lasting companion in the lives of those who use it. To date, KOMA has received more than 60 international design awards.
