GUNTER´S QUADRANT
Product description
The Gunter Quadrant has Sundial functions and some of an Astrolabe. On the back, it is a Nocturnal dial. It was named after the English mathematician E. Gunter (1581-1626) is a reproduction based on original instruments from mid-19th century which can be found at National Maritime Museum. Its peculiarity is on its faces: one has local height quadrant where we could find the solar time and solve other calculations related to Sun´s position. The other is a Nocturnal dial, such as those used by ancient sailors for orienteering with stars.
