El Faro is a sculptural floor lamp inspired by maritime lighthouses and their reassuring presence in the dark. Created by Omar Sherzad, it transposes into the interior space the idea of light that guides, accompanies and offers a refuge. Its chestnut body turned, dyed black and worked by hand presents tiger effects that give it an organic texture. This expressive material contrasts with the geometry of the double shade: an outer shell in painted iron and an inner dome in embossed, polished and varnished brass. The whole is based by gravity on a piece of blown borosilicate glass, specially made for this model. The light is divided into three zones: a main emission downwards, a light between the two shades and an upward emission towards the ceiling. This 360° diffusion gives El Faro an enveloping presence that structures the space while maintaining the light source from direct vision.
