Jan Kath est l'un des concepteurs les plus en demande au monde de tapis noués à la main. Il rompt intentionnellement avec les styles conventionnels et jette des règles de conception strictes par-dessus le dessus.
L'homme de Bochum n'hésite pas à combiner des éléments classiques du tapis oriental avec un design contemporain et minimaliste. Un autre thème majeur de son travail actuel consiste à interpréter des motifs photoréalistes dans l'art textile, que Kath perfectionne avec ses tisserands de tapis dans les ateliers de Katmandou (Népal).

Jan Kath is one of the most recognized designers of contemporary rugs. For many years, the German designer has worked for the biggest French fashion brands. Architects and decorators distinguish his designs as the ancients of tomorrow. His work is exhibited in museums such as the Royal Albert Museum in London and the Beijing International Triennial.
