Soigneusement tissé à partir d'un jacquard de laine mérinos fine pour former une trame piquée raffinée aux teintes blanches, rouges et bleu aviation, il actualise une interprétation particulière des visions psychédéliques d'Aldous Huxley.TRIP is the name of a collection of plaid-arazzi that offers an interpretation of Aldous Huxley’s visions and of the perceptual alterations induced by the use of psychoactive substances.The journey begins with the perception of colourful, moving, geometrically vivid shapes. Almost pure geometry transforms into vast, complex forms that continuously evolve. Bright spots and fragments of coloured glass appear, reminiscent of translucent fruit. These are followed by layers of colour, points of light, and zigzagging lines in luminous, vivid hues. They transform into undulating clouds of brilliant shades, within which architectural structures emerge. These are then replaced by a mountain—a peak of inconceivable height—floating veils of colour, and an efflorescence of precious stones. Finally, a vision of a green and pristine world appears, breaking upon the shore in a multitude of lights as the waves crash against the beach.TRIP was presented in “Burning Bright,” Serena Confalonieri’s first solo exhibition. The title refers to The Tyger, William Blake’s poem by the author who, among the first, explored the concept of amplified perception.Burning Bright accompanied the viewer on an inner journey that was vibrant and colourful, in which sight and the other senses were hyperstimulated by intense colour palettes and kaleidoscopic patterns.
