Bursting with the joys of summer meadows filled with dancing lillies the original design of this Gabbeh is naturalistic and surreal at the same time. The designer/weaver have cleverly transported us to a field of dreams... and the mysterious woodland beyond. Never-never Land perhaps? The juxtaposition of the bright and contrasting colours of the flowers on the delicately abrashed woollen ground creates a sense of natural movement in this design, as if a gentle breeze is blowing through this magical meadow... an amazing sense of perspective that takes one’s breath away.
