Yamasakura and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Project
The Yamasakura series, part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Project
ʏᴀᴍᴀsᴀᴋᴜʀᴀ The Yamasakura series is made of wild cherry tree, a broad-leaved tree characterized by its beautiful bark and no tar. It is also known for their stiffness, their strength, and its hard to scratch surface. This is for us a valuable resource that allows a durable and long-lasting use of a product. We purchase wild cherry wood logs from local tree-thinning activities that are implemented to protect and maintain healthy local forests. These wood logs are entirely sawn at a local lumber-mill to become final products. We donate a part of our SALIU Yamasakura sales profits to organisations that carry out multifaceted activities such as forest conservation, community development and succession planning. We are also actively involved in the planting of mountain cherry trees.
