NICOLAS VERSCHAEVE PRÉSENTE SILLAGES AU STUDIO NOÉ DUCHAUFOUR-LAWRANCE
The Studio Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance has invited designer Nicolas Verschaeve to present his collection of glass objects, Sillages. The two studios are united around a practice of situated design, paying homage to roaming and encounters.
Aboard his mobile studio, Nicolas Verschaeve opens up spaces for situated research and composes with the social, cultural, historical and technical conditions of each context to reveal their singularity. He pays close attention to relationships and is rigorous about the design of forms whose emergence is guided by the laws of matter, the gestures of those who transform it and the processes involved in making use of it. He sees the discipline as a means of revealing the invisible interdependencies underlying the construction of our physical world.
