Punto Punto continues the exploration of the concept of sign abstraction in figurative textile representation, first introduced with Punto Pecora.Jacquard cards consist of very long strips of interconnected rectangular perforated sheets, which transmit graphic information during the mechanical weaving process. Each individual sheet, comprising three information blocks, defines the instructions required to interlace a single weft yarn. The perforations in sheet no. 2 of the first card strip of the Punto Pecora pattern prototype have given rise to a new pattern that once again incorporates a small fragment of the Lanificio Leo brand identity. This time, however, the figurative representation of the lamb is reduced to a pure concept. The product is crafted using the traditional triple-layer Jacquard weaving technique.
