Portospino Natural Black is a horizontal wall panel handwoven in Nule, Sardinia, on a traditional loom. The two wide fields are in undyed Sardinian wool, in the natural colour of black sheep: a deep, living dark brown with a few lighter fibres. They frame a bright central band of red, mustard yellow, lilac and white stripes, with multicoloured braids along the edges. Through the centre runs a line of ambisues, the small leech motif from the traditional blankets of Nule that Eugenia Pinna has made her own. To hang above a sideboard, a bed or a sofa, alone or as a series with Portospino Yellow and Portospino Sky Blue. Handmade, so small variations are part of each piece.
